Reasons for judicial divorce in Iraqi law

Iraqi law specifies grounds for a wife to seek a judicial separation, including:

Desertion for more than two years.

Serious harm (such as beating or psychological abuse).

Failure to provide financial support without a legitimate excuse.

One of the spouses suffers from a terminal or mental illness that prevents the continuation of marital life.

The husband marries a second wife without the knowledge of the first wife.
