The most important branches of Iraqi law
Iraqi law can be divided into two main branches:
Public Law:
Constitutional Law: Regulates the relationship between the three branches of government and the rights of citizens.
Administrative Law: Regulates the work of ministries and government institutions.
Criminal Law: Punishes criminal acts and is divided into public and private.
Private Law:
Civil Law: Regulates financial and personal relationships between individuals.
Personal Status Law: Regulates marriage, divorce, custody, and inheritance.
Commercial Law: Regulates commercial transactions and companies.
Labor Law: Regulates the employment relationship between the employee and the employer.
